The Mississippi Concrete Association (MCA) Concrete College hosted two American Concrete Institute (ACI) classes and one Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) class in April and May, 2021. MCA is the sponsoring group for Mississippi to administer ACI Test.
April 13-14, 2021 MCA hosted the ACI Class 1 Field Technician class in Tupelo, Mississippi. MCA anticipated 45 students and instead 70 students attended! The class was held at Itawamba Community College, allowing students to safely distance during class.
MCA hosted ACI Strength class at the MCA Classroom in Pearl, Mississippi. MCA anticipated 27 students and 27 students attended. On May 4-6, 2021 MCA hosted the MDOT Class 3 at the MCA Classroom in Pearl, Mississippi with 17 students in attendance. This 3-day class is held once a year for MDOT.
All classes were held in strict conformance to the CDC Guidelines for COVID-19. Each student, instructor, MCA staff and proctors took a questionnaire and daily temperature check. Also, each class had an option for the students to attend via a high-quality Zoom class, with great picture and sound. A real benefit for the students was at the end of each class, each student was emailed the entire class video recording to allow them to review for the test.
